The notch
A ring around your camera. Green, amber, red: the colour is what you have used. Tap it and the pill drops down with the percentage and the countdown.
Claude · ChatGPT · Copilot · Codex
Notchy puts your AI assistants’ quota in your Android’s camera cutout. How much you have used and when it comes back, without opening anything.
Android 8 or newer · English and Spanish
The problem
Notchy reads the same usage pages you would open yourself, every fifteen minutes, and puts the number where you are already looking: on top of the app you are working in.
What it does
Notchy works where you are already looking: on top of the app you are working in, on your home screen and in the notification shade.
01
A ring around your camera. Green, amber, red: the colour is what you have used. Tap it and the pill drops down with the percentage and the countdown.
02
No cutout on your phone? A thin handle on the screen edge pulls the same information out vertically, and hides itself after three seconds.
03
Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Codex with your own session. Claude API, OpenAI API and DeepSeek API with your key and your budget.
04
At 80% used, fifteen minutes before the reset, and when your balance comes back. With a real alarm, not a notification, if the phone is in deep sleep.
05
Notchy measures your week and works out how much you can spend per hour to reach the reset. If you will not make it, it tells you what time you run dry.
06
A widget on your home screen, a tile in quick settings and a persistent notification with one bar per provider. Without opening the app.
No server
There is no Notchy backend. Cookies, API keys and history are kept in your Android’s encrypted store and are never uploaded anywhere. You can wipe all of it from Settings.
Full privacy policyread the page →Why I built it
I am Emiliano, a full stack developer, and I build Notchy on my own. It started for two reasons: to stop opening that page every fifteen minutes, and to save up to marry Hanna.
Emiliano Osunaemilianoosuna.comPro and support
Notchy works in full without paying: the notch, the edge tab, the widget, the tile, the alerts and the pace. Pro only adds one thing.
Free
One provider, whichever you like.
Notchy Pro · one payment
All seven at once.
No subscription and no ads either way. Google Play sets the price in your currency and it does not renew. You buy it inside the app, under Settings.
Chip in
No reward, no badge, no hidden feature behind them. They go towards the wedding. It is independent from Pro: neither of the two needs the other.
Questions
If something is missing, write to me: emilianoos.dev@gmail.com. I answer myself; there is no one else on support.
No. You sign in on the provider’s own page inside a system window, exactly as you would in a browser, and the only thing Notchy keeps is the session cookie that page leaves behind. Your password never passes through the app.
There is no Notchy server for it to leave to. Cookies, API keys and history live in your Android’s encrypted store, stay out of the backup, and requests go straight to Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub and DeepSeek. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising.
Yes. With no camera cutout, the edge tab pulls the same information out vertically from the side of the screen, and hides itself after three seconds. There is also the widget, the quick settings tile and the notification shade.
With your own web session: Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and GitHub Copilot. With your own API key and budget: Claude API, OpenAI API and DeepSeek API. Seven in total.
The download is free. There are optional one-time purchases processed by Google Play, and no subscriptions. Notchy never sees your payment details.
It checks every fifteen minutes, not continuously. While an overlay is on, the app keeps a foreground service running, which is what Android requires in exchange for being allowed to draw on top; that is why you see a permanent notification. It is not telemetry, it is the system’s requirement.
Hanna is my engine, and the love of my life. Cheesy as it sounds, it is the truth. That is why I will do everything I can to marry her as soon as possible.
Coming to Google Play
Notchy is not on Google Play yet. There is nothing to pre-order and nothing to sign up for: this page is updated on launch day.
